Tungsten Copper Electrode WCu
Tungsten copper electrode is a composite metal of tungsten and copper, combining the many excellent characteristics of metallic tungsten and copper. Among these, tungsten has a high melting point (tungsten's melting point is 3410°C, while copper's melting point is 1083°C), high density (tungsten's density is 19.30g/cm³, and copper's density is 8.9g/cm³); copper has superior thermal conductivity, and the tungsten-copper alloy (composition generally ranges from WCu10 to WCu50).
It is resistant to high temperatures, has high strength, is resistant to electric arc erosion, has high density, moderate conductivity, and thermal conductivity. The mechanical and physical properties of tungsten copper change with the increase in copper content; conductivity and thermal conductivity increase accordingly; conversely, hardness, strength, and wear resistance increase with the increase in tungsten content. The specific application determines the choice of material.

WCu90 (WCu10) Density: 17g/cm³

When high-heat welding of copper sheets and copper pieces is required, it can replace pure tungsten electrodes. It has high heat generation and can easily process more complex shapes.

WCu80 (WCu20) Density: 15.5g/cm³

The most commonly used tungsten-copper ratio, with stable composition and high heat generation, making the electrode durable. It is widely used in the welding of thin copper sheets.

WCu70 (WCu30) Density: 13.7g/cm³

The most commonly used tungsten-copper ratio, with slightly higher conductivity than WCu80, stable composition, and moderate heat generation. The electrode is durable and often replaces chromiumzirconium copper electrodes to improve electrode life and reduce electrode maintenance time.
